FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT IS OUR STANCE ON CTE AND NEURODEGENERATIVE CONDITIONS?
The long-term impacts of concussion and repeated head trauma with respect to causing CTE is evidentially inconclusive. Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy ("CTE") has an association with concussion/s, but the extent of that is not yet known. There is also no conclusive evidence to say that concussion causes brain disease, though it is becoming less doubtful that neurodegenerative change is related to concussion/s (occurring at any age).
DO WE WANT TO BAN CONTACT SPORT?
No. We support sport in all shapes and sizes, and do not advocate a ban on contact sport at any age.

WHY DO WE RUN CONCUSSION AUSTRALIA
Our team cares deeply about people with concussion and we are experts in all parts of the concussion ecosystem: medical, legal and personal. We are not financially remunerated for our work. For a long time concussion has been ignored and put to the bottom of the pile by government and sporting bodies; it is time for that to change so that current and future generations are independently educated and better cared for when concussed.
